Hi, I am Robert Tewes. My love of marine environments was passed on to my daughter Emily during the early trips to Belize and other tropical spots around the world. With our shared interests in the natural world,  it was only natural that we should share the same passion for the environment by honing our photography skills and sharing our favorite images with others.

The name Photic Zone is that vertical region of the oceans that light penetrates. This name for our business combines our love for the oceans with the essence of photography… light. For me, retirement life means solo camping on a weekday for the perfect shot of a falling star.
